Our History


In 1964 a young Californian family crossed the Pacific to make a new home on the Gold Coast. Starting with a small restaurant in Surfers Paradise and a Mexican food truck that traversed beaches and surfing contests in the early 1970’s the Californians would become pioneers in helping introduce Mexican and Cali-Mex cuisine to Australia. Continuing in this tradition, California Native revisits family recipes and combines over 50 years of shared experience and food knowledge passed down across three generations to offer a unique and personal Californian dining experience.
